Predatory marine cone snails use a diverse mixture of peptides known as conopeptides in the capture of their prey. A fascinating feature of these peptides is their high specificity and affinity towards human ion channels, receptors and transporters in the nervous system. This makes conopeptides an interesting resource in the research of neuroreceptors and promising drug leads. This site features a comprehensive repository of peptides isolated from the venom glands of snail from the Conus genus.

In order to track the vast number of different frameworks and novel peptide sequences that have been characterized this website presents a database of conotoxin peptide sequences and structures.
